Luke Schenn (lower body) is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Schenn's status has been up in the air after sitting out the last three games but is now been confirmed to miss the next four to six weeks with a lower-body injury. He recorded one block and four hits in 15:11 time-on-ice in his only game this season. Last season, Schenn had a league-leading 318 hits along with 22 points (4G / 18A) in 70 games. Dante Fabbro has, and will likely continue, to fill in on the back end in his absence.

Saros will start against the Oilers on Tuesday.

Saros will start his fourth straight game for the Predators to open the season. He is pretty well on par with his career 2.57 GAA and .919 SV% so far this season, posting a 2.41 GAA and .920 SV% in three contests (1-2-0). The wins aren't always there for Saros and the Predators but his superb performances have become expected as he has solidified himself as a top-tier goaltender in the NHL over the past half-decade. Saros will be put to the ultimate test Tuesday as the Predators face off against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, who are still searching for their first victory (0-2-0).

Steven Stamkos (lower body) is day-to-day and will miss his second straight game Tuesday vs. Buffalo.

Stamkos will miss his second consecutive game as he tends to a lower-body injury. His status is day-to-day as the Lightning hope he can return soon after a torrid start to the season, recording four points (2G / 2A) in his first two games. He was replaced by Nick Paul on the top powerplay unit in his first game out of the lineup.

Saros will start Saturday in Boston.

Saros stopped all 23 shots that he faced in the Predators' shutout win over the Kraken on Thursday. It was an outstanding performance for Saros, who allowed four goals on 34 shots in a loss in Tampa on opening night. Saros carries a 2.05 GAA and .929 SV% into tonight's game in Boston.

Fabbro will play in Thursday's game against the Blues.

A healthy scratch on Tuesday's opening night game against the Lightning, Fabbro will draw back into the lineup on Thursday in place of Luke Schenn (lower-body). Fabbro is expected to skate alongside Roman Josi on the Preds' top pair at 5v5. The 25-year-old defenseman tallied just two goals and nine assists in 79 games with the Predators last season.

Saros will start Thursday's game against the Kraken.

Saros will be looking to rebound against Seattle on Thursday after a difficult opening-night matchup against the Lightning. The 28-year-old workhorse surrendered four goals on 33 shots enroute to a 5-3 defeat. Saros remains one of the best goaltenders in the NHL despite the poor start to the season he endured on Tuesday, and he’s got a great chance of notching his first win of the campaign at home against the Kraken on Thursday.

Juuse Saros
Schenn will not play in Thursday's game against the Kraken due to a lower-body injury.

Schenn presumably picked up the injury at some point during Tuesday night's opening affair with the Lightning, though there was no mention or report of an injury prior to warmups for Thursday's game against the Blues. The 33-year-old blue-liner rarely contributes offensively, but his absence will be felt in fantasy formats that reward blocked shots and hits. Dante Fabbro will slide into the lineup in place of Schenn.

Fabbro had two goals, nine assists, 50 PIMs, 101 SOG, and a -4 plus/minus through 79 games with Nashville in 2022-23 but will be a healthy scratch for their first game of the season vs. Tampa Bay. The 25-year-old defenseman is entering his sixth NHL season and should find himself in the Predators' lineup more often than not this season.
