Halonen has been recalled from Utica (AHL) on Friday.

With Nathan Bastian (lower body) finding himself on Injured Reserve, Brian Halonen earned his first career call-up to the New Jersey Devils from Utica (AHL) on Friday. The 25-year-old left-winger has been enjoying a solid season in Utica in 2023-24, with 13 goals, 17 points, 10 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus in 21 games played before his call up.

Bastian (lower body) was placed on Injured Reserve on Friday.

Bastian has been placed on Injured Reserve Friday after an extremely eventful game on Thursday vs. New York. Bastian was the recipient of a hard hit from New York's Matt Rempe Thursday which resulted in a five-minute major and ejection and later fought Jacob Trouba after receiving another hard hit. The 26-year-old was on pace to break his previous career high in games played (60) but will not be out indefinitely. He currently has 12 points, (5G/7A), 32 PIMs and a -10 plus/minus in 54 games played before his injury.

Daws will start against the Rangers on Thursday.

Daws will get an immediate shot at redemption after his shot streak came to a sudden end in Washington on Tuesday. Daws allowed six goals on just 26 shots in the 6-2 defeat, ending a run of four straight starts where the the 23-year-old netminder posted a .931 SV% or better. Daws owns a 6-7-0 record in 13 starts on the season to go along with a .903 SV% and a 3.18 GAA. He draws a difficult assignment on Thursday at home against the Rangers, though New York could be without Artemi Panarin (lower-body).

Markstrom will start on Thursday vs. Boston.

Markstrom will return to the crease for the ninth time in the last 10 games when the Flames face off against the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Markstrom has allowed three or fewer goals in six of his last seven games (5-2-0) and saved 28 of 31 shots (.903 SV%) on Monday, a 6-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets. The Flames enter action as +110 home underdogs.

Poulter has been recalled from Utica (AHL) on Wednesday.

Akira Schmid has been sent down the Utica (AHL), resulting in Poulter being recalled. It is unlikely that Poulter will see any action while he is with the Devils as Nico Daws has controlled the crease lately. Poulter is an undrafted 22-year-old who has enjoyed a decent season with Utica, recording a 2.70 GAA and .908 SV% in 24 games (14-7-1).

Daws will start in Washington on Tuesday.

The Devils will turn to Daws for the fifth-consecutive game when the team travels to Washington to take on the Capitals on Tuesday night. Daws has been outstanding since filling in for the injured Vitek Vanecek (lower-body), compiling a 3-1-0 record across his last four starts, posting a .942 SV% in the process. He turned in a fantastic performance in the outdoor game against the Flyers on Saturday, stopping 45 of the 48 shots he faced enroute to a 6-3 victory. Daws and the Devils look poised to stay in the win column on Tuesday as they find themselves as -165 favourites over the Capitals.

Siegenthaler has been out of the lineup for over a month due to a broken foot but appears ready to return to the lineup on Tuesday. The 26-year-old defender has eight points (1G / 7A) in 38 games this season and will be a welcome addition to a Devils squad that has had an injury-depleted defensive core lately, most notably with Dougie Hamilton on LTIR.

Markstrom will start on Monday vs. Winnipeg.

Markstrom will return to the crease on Monday, looking to rebound after a poor outing on Saturday. Markstrom allowed four goals on 12 shots (.667 SV%) and did not finish the contest in an eventual 5-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. The Flames enter action on Monday as a +113 home underdog against a Winnipeg Jets club riding a three-game winning streak.
