Daccord will make his first career NHL start on Thursday.

Daccord, 22, was a seventh-round pick of the Senators in 2015 and joined the Senators after his Junior Year at Arizona State University. Daccord was 21-12-1 with a 2.36 GAA and .926 SV% at ASU and with the Senators 30 points out of the playoffs with two games left, they will get a look at Daccord tonight in Buffalo.

Kempny will miss 4-6 months after undergoing surgery on his hamstring.

The Capitals will be without one of their top-pairing defensemen for the rest of the regular season and playoffs after Kempny underwent surgery to repair a hamstring injury that he suffered on March 20th. The Capitals acquired Nick Jensen from Detroit at the trade deadline and he will help replace Kempny on the Capitals blueline.

Grubauer will start Monday vs. the Hurricanes.

Grubauer stopped all 18 shots that he faced in Colorado’s shutout win over the Sabres on Saturday afternoon. It was one of the easiest shutouts Grubauer will ever post and comes into Monday’s game at 2-1-0 with a 0.83 GAA, .958 SV% and two shutouts in his last five appearances (two starts). In his first start against the Hurricanes, Grubauer stopped 42 of 43 shots in a 3-1 win (Oct.20).

Grubauer allowed two goals on 23 shots in Colorado’s loss in Anaheim last Sunday. Grubauer has played very well in his last two starts and two relief appearances, stopping 72 of the last 75 shots (.960 SV%) that he has faced. The 27-year-old has gone 4-4-1 with a 3.32 GAA and .883 SV% at the Pepsi Center this season.

The Islanders have recalled Christopher Gibson from Bridgeport (AHL).

Gibson has gone 18-9-1 with a 2.89 GAA and .900 SV% in 33 games with Bridgeport this season. Gibson is expected to serve as Thomas Greiss’ backup on Thursday with Robin Lehner getting hurt late in Tuesday’s game after a collision with Brady Tkachuk.
