Nico Daws has been recalled from Utica (AHL).

Daws is no stranger to the NHL either, playing 25 games (10-11-1) with the Devils as a rookie, posting a 3.11 GAA and .893 SV%, but has yet to play for the Devils this season. The 22-year-old netminder debuted with the Utica Comets (AHL) earlier this month after returning from an injury, posting a 2.39 GAA and .929 SV% in three games (1-2-0). Daws could be an option at the NHL level at some point this season, perhaps sooner than later, especially if the goaltending tandem of Vitek Vanecek and Akira Schmid continues to falter.

The Red Wings have recalled Simon Edvinsson from Grand Rapids (AHL).

Olli Maatta picked up a knock in Friday's win over the Flyers, so Edvinsson will likely make his season debut on Saturday. The 2021 No.6 overall pick has been great in the AHL this season, leading all Griffins defensemen with 16 points (6G / 10A) in 25 games. Edvinsson had two goals in nine games with the Red Wings a season ago.

The Flyers have reassigned Rhett Gardner to Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Gardner has yet to appear in an NHL game with the Flyers this season and was sent back to the AHL with the team done their pre-Christmas schedule. The 27-year-old forward has just four points (3G / 1A) in 21 AHL games this season.

The Flyers have reassigned Cal Petersen to Lehigh Valley (AHL).

The Flyers finished their pre-Christmas schedule on Friday, so they have sent a couple of players back to the AHL. With Carter Hart back healthy, Petersen will likely remain in the AHL once the schedule resumes next week. Petersen has gone 4-6-1 with a 3.20 GAA and .898 SV% in 11 games with Lehigh Valley this season.

Ben Meyers has been reassigned to the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

Meyers had appeared in Colorado's last five games but appears to be the odd man off the roster as he was assigned to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) on Friday. The 25-year-old returns to the minors with a goal, four SOG and a -1 plus/minus in five games in the NHL this season. He has miraculously yet to pick up an assist after 49 career NHL games.

Michael Sgarbossa has been reassigned to Hershey (AHL).

Sgarbossa did not appear for the Capitals during his brief call-up stint and will head back to Hershey (AHL) Friday. The 31-year-old centre last played in the NHL in 2021-22 but has been having success in the minors with the Bears this season, with five goals, 28 points, 16 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus in 28 games played.

Jiri Kulich has been reassigned to the Czech National Junior Team for the World Junior Tournament.

Kulich has only played one game with the Sabres this season, spending most of his time with the Rochester Americans of the AHL, where he has 22 points (16G / 6A) in 23 games. The Sabres' 28th overall pick from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft has been reassigned to the Czech National Junior Team and will participate in the World Junior Tournament for the third straight year.

Jake Lucchini has been recalled from the Iowa Wild (AHL) on emergency conditions.

Lucchini had nine goals, 20 points, six PIMs and a -6 plus/minus in 24 games with Iowa (AHL) and has been recalled to Minnesota for the first time this season on emergency conditions. The 28-year-old left-winger last appeared in the NHL for his one and only season in 2022-23 and had a goal, 14 SOG, and a -2 plus/minus in 11 games played.

Michael Sgarbossa has been recalled from Hershey (AHL).

Sgarbossa has been in the Capitals system since the 2018-19 season but has only played 17 games with the club in that span, scoring six points (2G / 4A). He has spent most of his time with the Hershey Bears of the AHL, where he has been stellar this season, scoring 28 points (5G / 23A) in 28 games.

Sean Day has been recalled from Syracuse (AHL).

Day has been recalled and reassigned several times in the last month but has not cracked the Lightning lineup during his stints at the NHL level. The 25-year-old Day was the third-round pick of the New York Rangers in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and has eight points (0G / 8A) in 16 games this season with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.

Cal Petersen has been recalled from Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Petersen has been called up again from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, a semi-regular occurrence over the last month as Carter Hart has battled several injuries and is currently not able to play due to an illness. Petersen has a 3.50 GAA and .896 SV% in two games with the Flyers this season (1-1-0) and will serve as the backup to Samuel Ersson on Thursday.
