Weber has proven to be a serviceable NHL defenceman since being drafted in 2007. However, he has found himself in a log jam on the blueline in Vancouver, but could be claimed before noon tomorrow by a team lacking D depth.

The 25-year-old Jeffrey, a sixth-round pick of Pittsburgh in 2007, has played 100 NHL games, registering 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists). “Dustin is a player our scouts have liked over the last couple years,” said Stars GM Jim Nill. “He’s a young player that we think has some room to develop even more. We just think he has a chance to add some depth to our organization. You can never have enough depth.”
Eaves goes on waivers to clear cap space and room for Jonathan Ericsson to come off of IR. If Eaves clears waivers he will be assigned to Grand Rapids (AHL).
Whitney has a minus-7 rating and no points in six games.
Tootoo will remain in Detroit for now. Until they have to send him to Grand Rapids, when Jonathan Ericsson comes off LTIR next week.
Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock said it was a numbers game and that they have too may right wingers. Tootoo is a high energy forward who plays with and edge. He could be claimed by a team looking to add some grit to their lineup.
Olesz has two assists and a minus-1 rating in 10 games with the Devils.
MacDonald is 3-3-1 with a 3.16 GAA and .885 SV% this season. It would not be surprising if a team with goalie trouble (ex. NSH) claims MacDonald.
Ellerby has yet to appear in a game this season after registering three assists in 35 games last season with the Kings. He has 20 points in 160 career NHL regular season games.
Kaleta just finished serving his 10-game suspension. He has a bad history of questionable hits and decisions.
Potter was just recalled on Sunday but did not play last night vs. Toronto. He has not played all season because of a back injury.
Grebeshkov has no points and is a plus-1 while averaging 11:36 TOI in three games with the Oilers.
Veilleux has no points and a minus-4 rating while averaging 7:10 TOI in 10 games with Minnesota. This a good sign that forward Charlie Coyle (lower-body) could return to the lineup on Friday.
Rome waivers could be just for options. If he clears, he has 10-game, 30-day window where he can be assigned. Gives extra forward option. Rome just returned to the Stars after missing the start of the season with a hip injury.
Staubitz has not appeared in a game this season.
Da Costa has no points and a plus-1 rating while averaging 11:27 TOI in four games.
Biron is 0-1-0 with a 7.65 GAA and .763 SV% in two appearances.
Asham has no points and a minus-3 rating in three games.
