Bouchard has been placed on waivers presumably to clear roster space in order to recall Ryan Strome. The Islanders are in desperate need of offence and Strome was the 5th overall pick in 2011 and leads the AHL with with 33 points (9G / 24A). Bouchard has not recorded a point in the last eight games and has just four goals and five assists in 28 games. He signed one-year, $2 million contract in the offseason and could be claimed by a team in need of forward depth .

Smithson has played in 13 games with the Maple Leafs, averaged 10:20 TOI, has no points, a minus-4 rating and one shot on goal. He is on a two-way contract so there will be no cap-hit if he is claimed from waivers.

Klesla, 31, is in his 12th season in the NHL and will head to the AHL after clearing waivers today. He hasten goal and two assists in 15 games this season. He has played 649 NHL games, but will reportedly report to Portland without any issue. He is expected to be recalled at some point this season.

D'Agostini has one assist in eight games with the Penguins this season. He should see a bump in ice-time heading from a good Pittsburgh team to a bad Buffalo team, but he still doesn't figure to be fantasy relevant.

D'Agostini had been a healthy scratch for a week until Beau Bennett was injured. D'Agostini has one assist in eight games.

Klesla was a healthy scratch on November 16, but has played in the last three games. He has one goal and two assists in 15 games this season. The Coyotes have a lot of depth on the backend, so Klesla appears to be the victim of a numbers game.

"He left today. It was not our decision," GM Lou Lamoriello of Olesz. "Olesz came to Devils to play in NHL and feels he's played enough in AHL" It sounds like Olesz has been given a chance to play in Europe and the Devils won't stand in his way.

Weber has proven to be a serviceable NHL defenceman since being drafted in 2007. However, he has found himself in a log jam on the blueline in Vancouver, but could be claimed before noon tomorrow by a team lacking D depth.

With the signing of Ilya Bryzgalov it was obvious that Labarbera was not going to be with the Oilers for long. In six appearances this season, he has one win with a 3.69 GAA and .858 SV%.

Jeffrey, who is listed at 6-1, 205 pounds, is a left shot and plays both center and wing. The versatile, two-way forward has played ten games with the Penguins this season, registering one assist. The 25-year-old Jeffrey, a sixth-round pick of Pittsburgh in 2007, has played 100 NHL games, registering 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists). “Dustin is a player our scouts have liked over the last couple years,” said Stars GM Jim Nill. “He’s a young player that we think has some room to develop even more. We just think he has a chance to add some depth to our organization. You can never have enough depth.”

Eaves goes on waivers to clear cap space and room for Jonathan Ericsson to come off of IR. If Eaves clears waivers he will be assigned to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Whitney has a minus-7 rating and no points in six games.

Tootoo will remain in Detroit for now. Until they have to send him to Grand Rapids, when Jonathan Ericsson comes off LTIR next week.

Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock said it was a numbers game and that they have too may right wingers. Tootoo is a high energy forward who plays with and edge. He could be claimed by a team looking to add some grit to their lineup.

Olesz has two assists and a minus-1 rating in 10 games with the Devils.

MacDonald is 3-3-1 with a 3.16 GAA and .885 SV% this season. It would not be surprising if a team with goalie trouble (ex. NSH) claims MacDonald.

Ellerby has yet to appear in a game this season after registering three assists in 35 games last season with the Kings. He has 20 points in 160 career NHL regular season games.

Kaleta just finished serving his 10-game suspension. He has a bad history of questionable hits and decisions.

Potter was just recalled on Sunday but did not play last night vs. Toronto. He has not played all season because of a back injury.

Grebeshkov has no points and is a plus-1 while averaging 11:36 TOI in three games with the Oilers.
