Over his previous five seasons, Svechnikov has 279 points (111G / 168A) in 324 games, a 0.86 point-per-game pace, but has not been able to maintain that production this season, with only 37 points (17G / 20A) through 52 games, a 0.71 point-per-game pace. The Hurricanes return to action on Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets.

The 24-year-old will be out of the lineup indefinitely, a crushing blow of the Blue Jackets' offense. Marchenko was having a breakout season, scoring 55 points (21G / 34A) in 53 games.
