Blankenburg will begin his second stint in Columbus this season on Friday after being recalled on an emergancy basis from Cleveland (AHL). The 25-year-old failed to pick up a point across his six games played earlier in the season but had three SOG while averaging 17:52 TOI.
With Columbus unsure of the status of both Elvis Merzlikins and Daniil Tarasov heading into Saturday, they have recalled 30-year-old Malcolm Subban from Cleveland (AHL) on an emergency basis. The well-traveled goaltender last appeared in the NHL with Buffalo in 2021-22 and has played for four teams across seven NHL seasons and has a 36-33-9 record, 3.10 GAA and .898 SV% in 86 games played.
Fix-Wolansky just surpassed a career-high in games played with 10 on Thursday but has been reassigned to Cleveland (AHL) on Friday. The 24-year-old failed to produce during his short stint with the Blue Jackets, with only one assist, 14 SOG and a -2 plus/minus in 10 games played.
Wagner scored his first goal as a member of the Colorado Avalanche on Monday and earned himself a one-year contract extension the following day for the 2024-25 season. The 32-year-old veteran should compete for Colorado's fourth-line centre role next year but will hope to build off of his two points (1G/1A) in 10 games this season.
Nesterenko was the sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Wild in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old played nine games with the Ducks last season and has 33 points (15G / 18A) in 63 games with the San Diego Gulls (AHL).
With Thomas Chabot set to return to Ottawa's lineup, Kleven will be returning to Belleville (AHL). The 22-year-old scored one point (0G / 1A) in nine games with Ottawa this season.
Phillips has five points (1G / 4A) in 28 games with the Capitals this season. The 25-year-old last played on March 22nd, registering only 4:15 time-on-ice.
Fleury was recalled last week as well but did not draw into Seatle's lineup and has yet to play an NHL game this season. The 25-year-old defenseman has 33 points (6G / 27A) in 61 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL).
Willman played the last four games for the Devils and scored two goals while averaging less than seven minutes of ice time but will return to the Utica Comets (AHL). The 29-year-old Willman has 21 points (11G / 10A) in 31 games with Utica this season.
Bourque was the 30th overall pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old leads the AHL with 72 points (26G / 46A) in 66 games but has yet to play an NHL game. He could be reunited in Dallas with Logan Stankoven, his linemate in Texas for the first 47 games of the season.
Foudy returns to the Eagles after a three-game stint where he logged no points and no shots on goal. He has one goal in four NHL games this season.
It would appear that Darcy Kuemper is not fully confident that he will play on Thursday after leaving practice early due to an injury a day before as Hunter Shephard has been recalled from Hershey (AHL). The 28-year-old has appeared in four games this season with Washington and has a 2-1-1 record with a 3.19 GAA and .894 SV%.
Bains second stint with Vancouver did not go as planned after the forward appeared in three games and averaged less than 10 minutes per game TOI while picking up a -2 plus/minus. The 23-year-old was re-assigned to Abbotsford (AHL) on Thursday, where he has 14 goals and 49 points in 53 games played this season.
Fix-Wolansky has become an elite offensive contributor at the AHL level but has not been able to translate that into NHL success. The 24-year-old has 58 points (24G / 34A) in 54 games with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) this season but only has four points (2G / 2A) in 24 career NHL games.
Smejkal played 12 games with Ottawa earlier this season, scoring one point (0G / 1A), but has spent most of his season in the AHL. The 27-year-old has 22 points (9G / 13A) in 45 games with the Belleville Senators (AHL) this season.
Poulin was the 21st overall pick of Pittsburgh in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and played three games with the club earlier this season. The 23-year-old has 27 points (13G / 14A) in 36 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) this season.
Balinskis started the season with the Panthers due to several injuries on the blueline but has spent most of the season with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), scoring 21 points (3G / 18A) in 37 games. He had a four-game stint with the Panthers in mid-March, last playing on March 26th.
Phillips will return to the Hershey Bears of the AHL as Tom Wilson will return to the Capitals' lineup after serving his six-game suspension. The 25-year-old Phillips has five points (1G / 4A) in 28 games with the Capitals this season.
